Tarleton Community Primary School have scooped the Regional Heat Winner title of Heat Four’s ‘Last Choir Singing’ competition.
The school has now made it to the Grand Final at King George’s Hall in Blackburn on 17 June, as well as receiving £250 in musical equipment vouchers.
The competition, organised and supported by True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners, set out to discover Lancashire’s best school choirs with live performances in regional heats throughout the County in March.
Tarleton Community Primary School’s choir consists of 55 vocalists and is led by Philippa Russmann, who has been working with them for three years. They practise weekly and have been singing at various charity and social events since their formation.
Head Teacher, Angela Fleming, from Tarleton Community Primary said: “We are so delighted to win the regional heat and, after getting through last year, we were very hopeful and our choir has worked extremely hard. It is especially important to me as I retire at the end of this term and, although they are always winners to me, I can leave, knowing they are through to the Final. The parents and supporters of the school are very proud of us and everyone was rooting for us all the way!”
Competition judge, Tyndale Thomas MBE said: “The standard of all the choirs was absolutely incredible but after much discussion the judge’s decision was unanimous. We look forward to seeing them perform in June.”
Runner-Up Goes Through To Final…
Great Eccleston Copp CE Primary School who won Runner-Up at Saturday’s heat, will join Tarleton Community at the Final.
Most Artistic Performance Goes To…
Forton Primary took home ‘Most Atristic’ and won £125 in musical equipment vouchers.
